Usage is metered in credits. Different endpoints cost different amounts, because they do different amounts of work. Bundles are cheaper per topic than individual calls. The Enterprise Bundle returns 37 topics for 35 credits.

You are only charged for successful requests

Credits are deducted after a request succeeds, never before.
  • A request that returns 200 is charged.
  • A request rejected at the door (401, 403, 429) costs nothing.
  • A request that fails upstream (502) costs nothing.
Every successful response includes an X-Credit-Cost header and a meta.credit_cost field showing exactly what you were charged.
Partial topic failures still count as success. If an Enterprise Bundle returns 36 good topics and one with "error": "unavailable", the request succeeded and you’re charged the full 35 credits. The bundle is priced on the call, not per-topic delivery.

Monthly quota

Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Your quota resets on your billing anniversary (the day you signed up), not on the 1st of the month.

When you exceed your quota

What happens depends on whether overages are enabled on your account.
Requests are rejected with 429 QUOTA_EXCEEDED until your billing period resets or you upgrade. You are never charged more than your plan’s base price.
Requests continue to succeed. Credits consumed beyond your quota are billed at your plan’s overage rate at the end of the billing period.Overage is billed per credit, not per request. One Enterprise Bundle call over quota costs 35 × your overage rate.
